Rental Policies & Terms

Approved Use

Vehicles are rented exclusively for professional rideshare and delivery services, including:

  • Uber

  • Lyft

  • Instacart

  • DoorDash

  • Amazon Flex

  • Walmart Spark

Personal, recreational, or unauthorized use is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate termination of the rental without refund.

Driver Eligibility

  • Minimum age: 25 years old

  • Valid driver’s license required (upload required at booking)

  • Active account with at least one approved rideshare or delivery platform

  • Proof of platform approval may be requested

  • Payment and deposit are due at pickup

Rental Rates

  • Weekly: $400

  • Monthly: $1,450

Rates are subject to vehicle availability and do not include fuel, tolls, tickets, or violations incurred during the rental period.

Security Deposit

A $250 refundable security deposit is required at pickup for all rentals.

  • The deposit may be authorized or charged to the renter’s card

  • The deposit is separate from rental fees

Deposit Use

The security deposit may be applied to:

  • Fuel shortages

  • EZ-Pass tolls

  • Parking tickets, traffic citations, or violations

  • Excessive cleaning

  • Damage beyond normal wear and tear

  • Administrative or processing fees related to the rental

Deposit Return

  • Remaining balances are typically returned within 3–7 business days after vehicle return and charge reconciliation

  • If charges exceed the deposit, the renter authorizes Green Light Rentals to charge the card on file for the remaining balance

Responsibility for Loss or Damage

Except as limited by applicable law, renters are responsible for any loss of or damage to the vehicle during the rental period, regardless of fault. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Collision or accident damage

  • Theft or vandalism

  • Fire, flood, hail, or other acts of nature

  • Damage resulting from misuse or unauthorized use

Responsibility may include repair costs, towing, storage, loss of use, and related administrative fees.

Insurance & Liability

Green Light Rentals maintains limited liability commercial insurance on its vehicles as required by law.

  • Renters may also operate the vehicle using their own personal or rideshare insurance, subject to their insurer’s terms

  • Renters are responsible for maintaining any insurance required by their rideshare or delivery platform

  • Green Light Rentals does not provide collision or loss damage waivers unless stated in writing

Green Light Rentals is not responsible for loss of income, platform suspension, or personal property left in the vehicle.

Mileage Policy

Unlimited mileage is provided within the New Jersey service area for approved rideshare and delivery use.

Out-of-state travel or use outside approved platforms requires prior written approval. Unauthorized travel may result in additional charges or termination.

Pickup & Return

  • Vehicle pickup is by scheduled meet-up in Bloomfield, New Jersey

  • Pickup and return times must be confirmed in advance

  • Vehicles must be returned in similar condition as received, excluding normal wear from approved use

Fuel Policy

Vehicles are provided with a documented fuel level at pickup.

  • Renters are responsible for refueling during the rental period

  • Fuel shortages at return will be charged to the card on file

  • Receipts will be provided upon request

EZ-Pass Tolls

All vehicles are equipped with EZ-Pass.

  • Renters are responsible for all toll charges incurred

  • Toll charges will be billed to the card on file after the rental

  • Receipts or toll statements will be provided

  • Administrative processing fees may apply

Tickets, Citations & Violations

Renters are solely responsible for:

  • Parking tickets

  • Speeding tickets

  • Red light or camera violations

  • Any traffic or municipal citations incurred during the rental

If Green Light Rentals receives notice of a violation:

  • Charges will be applied to the card on file

  • An administrative processing fee may apply

  • Documentation and receipts will be provided

Payment Authorization

By renting from Green Light Rentals, the renter authorizes charges to the card on file for:

  • Security deposit collection and adjustments

  • Fuel shortages

  • EZ-Pass tolls

  • Tickets and citations

  • Cleaning, damage, towing, or recovery costs

  • Approved administrative or processing fees

Charges may be processed during or after the rental period once costs are confirmed.

Vehicle Care & Prohibited Conduct

Renters agree to:

  • No smoking or vaping inside vehicles

  • No pets unless pre-approved

  • No towing or transport of hazardous materials

  • No subleasing or allowing unauthorized drivers

Excessive cleaning, damage, or misuse may result in additional charges.

Cancellations & Early Returns

  • Cancellations must be communicated in advance

  • Early returns do not qualify for prorated refunds unless approved in writing

  • No-shows may result in rental refusal

Right to Refuse or Terminate

Green Light Rentals reserves the right to refuse service or terminate a rental at any time for:

  • Policy violations

  • Unsafe or unauthorized use

  • Failure to comply with these terms

Legal Compliance

Certain renter responsibilities may be limited by state or local law. Where applicable law restricts or limits liability, those limitations will apply.

A refundable security deposit of $250 is required. The deposit covers potential damages and is refunded after vehicle return and inspection. Additional charges may apply for fuel, tolls (EZ-Pass), tickets or other incurred expenses.
